Book of the Week | The Readers of the Broken Wheel recommend by Katarina Bivald
I hope you’re staying home taking good care of yourself. Today, we wouldn’t talk about the news as it has become a cause of anxiety and crippling fear. So instead, we’ll talk about positive stuff that would keep your mind calm.
Last week’s theme was Earth and I hope all of you enjoyed it.
This week’s theme is a superhero! and the book is ‘Readers of the Broken Wheel club’, it is a really lovely book that has an amazing set of book recommendations. In my opinion, this is the right book to accompany you in lockdown. As it is your guide to the path on a bookish conquest.
Synopsis: Sara traveled all the way from Sweden just to meet her book-loving pen pal Amy, but when she arrives she finds Amy's funeral guests just leaving. The residents of Broken Wheel are happy to look after their bewildered visitor―there's not much else to do in a dying small town that's almost beyond repair. You certainly wouldn't open a bookstore. And definitely not with Sara the tourist in charge.
You'd need a vacant storefront (Main Street is full of them), books (Amy's house is full of them), and...customers. The bookstore might be a little quirky. Then again, so is Sara. But Broken Wheel's own story might be funnier, more eccentric, and surprising than she thought.
