They say the new year brings a new beginning, a new thought, and a newer perspective. With newer perspective comes newer ideologies and a clarion call for a change in your life, a personal revolution, a fight to make your life and the life of those around you better, be the change you wish to see. When we talk about change these lines always make a mark. "Revolution in the simplest form is a sudden change."
Ideologies, analysis, incompetence, non-existence of exposure, orients itself in a particular direction to reach for a revolution. Culture, society, or any institution that accounts for functionality has undergone several revolutions in different periods. Novels, written documents, articles, historical events revolve around revolution, either it is a product of a remarkable revolution or a source from where the revolution has emerged. A recursive and progressive approach makes ways for changes and also creates greater emancipation.

Let's take out time to understand the concept of revolution and how it can make an impact on your life, society, and your loved ones. For this week we have a collection of five intriguing novels on the theme of Revolution.
1. Carry Me Home by Diane McWhorter
It is one of the most meticulously researched pieces of work that stands out from the prevailing literary shelf.
Carry Me Home is a uniquely written history with a journalistic approach that holds a strong memoir of the civil rights battle in Birmingham, Alabama. Coming from a native Birminghamian, this novel brings forth the core insights of the times that were brutal. It's a story that portrayed the race-related discriminatory happenings in the American city.
The author traverses from the end of the 1930s through 1963 and the wonderfully crafted epilogue takes us through the 1990s. The resolution, advancement of thoughts, the study of the battle that fueled awakening, and the consequences of the revolution, everything is framed in this comprehensive work.
2. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
A revolutionizing visionary opus that portrays a futuristic society where suppression has no limits. It focuses on a bleak place where written records are being burnt, creativity is being crushed, and where questioning is illicit.
It is a powerful work that would lead the readers to wonder about the upcoming ages in society. It is a highly pertinent document for today's world where modernization has different aspects and where society is emblazoned with disguised development.
It's a slow-paced story with some characters which build the dystopian story, a guy Montag being the protagonist, who is a fireman. This novel hits right to many themes like history, science fiction, controversial, brilliant imagination with revolution and outrage brewing as the pivot element all along with the story.
3. Ninety-Three by Victor Hugo
The foundational pillars of revolution in society were first set by France, liberty, equality, fraternity, and the rights of man are the elements that took to such a great Revolution:- The French Revolution. The author took readers to the darker sections and period when there was a peasant revolution brewing, he voluntarily without any hesitation put forth the change in foundational idealism of democratic pillars that emerged.
The fading away of the true power of democracy lead to the civil war between Vendee and neighboring Brittany.
It is a detailed and rare subject documentary that focused on peasant uprising. Hugo's incredible work on characterization drove the novel in an exceptionally unique manner. It's an apt novel for the theme of revolution as it slowly fulfills the smallest of details required to build one. Revenge, guilt, destruction, revolt, morality, war, political issues, and many more facets are held here, which makes it a highly debatable work as well.
4. Shadow Lines by Amitav Ghosh
How do we cross lines? What are these lines?
The lines that distinguish between space and time. Is it required or should it be changed?
Shadow Lines is a thin novel that reveals a lot more than expected, it talks about the identification of a being, belonging, nationalism, feminism, and the stand of culture and society on immigrants.
The narration of the story is done by an uncle, Tridib who is dead, the narrator is unnamed.
It's a story that spans four generations. Imagination is the key element or the essence of the novel.
It is highly captivating and a genius endeavor by the author who portrayed several issues by weaving them into incidents of the story.
5. The Boy Who Dared by Susan Campbell Bartoletti
It is a novel that has an illustration of the author's episode from the book, Hitler youth. This literary account has decided a true story to put forth the times of the Nazi invasion. It centers on the brave and patriotic young boy who openly disagrees with dictatorship. There are a series of flashbacks that let the young boy head towards mutinous thoughts.
The novel portrays the time when individual freedom is hampered by the actions that prevailed, brutalities, and inhuman behavior was carried out openly. Helmuth, the young boy made his access to the BBC radio broadcasts which was illegal in his country, this is the source from where his mind got structured. The novel has explicitly shown the bravery, daring abilities of a young boy who fought till the end, he aroused opposition towards the most brutal institution that was never answerable.
